So what is TempTrader and how does it work?
TempTrader provides rapid, senior-level trading desk cover for asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, and asset owners when in-house dealing capacity is stretched or temporarily unavailable.
Whether the requirement arises from parental leave, sickness, resignation, regulatory absence, project overload, or a planned gap during recruitment, TempTrader ensures continuity of execution without forcing firms into long-term commitments or structural change.
Unlike outsourced trading, TempTrader operates inside your existing trading function. Our traders sit within your organisation, follow your policies and procedures, use your systems, and execute under your governance and compliance framework. Control, accountability, and transparency remain fully with you.
Each TempTrader is an experienced buy-side professional, typically with decades of front-office trading experience across equities, fixed income, derivatives, or multi-asset strategies. They are accustomed to stepping into live environments quickly, working with minimal supervision, and maintaining execution standards from day one.
Engagements can range from short-term emergency cover to multi-month assignments supporting desk builds, strategy changes, or periods of sustained volume. The model is deliberately flexible, allowing firms to scale trading capacity up or down without the cost, risk, or delay associated with permanent hires.
TempTrader is particularly well suited to smaller or single-dealer desks, firms operating key-person models, or organisations that value in-house execution but recognise the operational risk of relying on limited headcount.
As with all Ergo Consultancy services, TempTrader is delivered independently. We do not provide execution services, route flow, or benefit from trading activity. Our sole focus is ensuring that clients retain effective, compliant, and resilient trading operations when it matters most.
