David Berney
​Founding Partner of ERGO Consultancy & Principal Consultant, London

• Prior to founding Ergo, David was a pan-European Sales Trader at Helvea (Baader Helvea) and he also worked for sell side firms BNP Paribas and Citigroup/Salomon Brothers.
• Early in his career David created a centralised buy side dealing desk at Citi Private Banking from scratch, before moving to Instinet where he set up and ran the Fixed Income business and became Head of Trading.
• Outside of the City, David teaches SME owners and managers to increase turnover and profitability. He races historic Mini's and manages a driver in the British Touring Car Championship.
• David graduated from London Business School’s Investment Management Program in 1994.

Michael Broadbent
Principal Consultant, London

• Michael was previously Head of Trading at a successful London Hedge Fund, where he was responsible for setting up and building the entire trading desk and removing dealing responsibilities from portfolio managers.
• Specialising in illiquid and difficult to trade instruments, he was one of the earliest traders in London to integrate Algorithms, Smart Order Routing, Transaction Cost Analysis, and full integration between Portfolio Management (PMS), Order Management (OMS) and Execution Management (EMS). Systems.
• Michael is well known in the industry for his ability to bridge the communication gap between portfolio managers, traders, counterparties, technology providers and internal IT departments.
